Gbenga has over 24 years of private equity, principal investing and financial advisory experience in the international and West African markets. He manages Argentil’s principal investing and asset management business included a discretionary credit portfolio, the Argentil Principal Investment Portfolio I (APIP I) that returned 1.8x (net) from inception in Q3 2012 to Q1 2017. He has led on five investments made by APIP II including Tempo Housing Nigeria Limited, winner of the Private Equity Africa Deal of the Year (Small Cap) 2019 award.
Gbenga sits on the APIP II Investment Committee and board of its investee companies. He has also led on principal investments in Sygen Pharmaceuticals and First Modular Gas Systems Limited. Previously, Gbenga was responsible for identifying, originating and executing private equity transactions in West Africa at Aureos Capital, specialising in deal structuring, valuation and portfolio management. He also worked with Standard Bank London and Stanbic Bank Nigeria in various corporate and project finance roles. He holds an MSc. in Economics and Management from University College London and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Femi has over 26 years of research, portfolio management, financial advisory, private equity and corporate finance experience in the international and West African markets. Femi currently co-manages Argentil’s principal investments and asset management business including a discretionary credit portfolio that returned 1.8x (net) since inception in Q3 2012 to Q1 2017. Femi sits on the APIP II Investment Committee and board of its investee companies.
Prior to Argentil, Femi was the Managing Director of the investment banking subsidiary of BGL Plc with overall responsibility for the structured finance, corporate finance and principal investment business. Femi also held senior roles in Rand Merchant Bank, Stanbic Bank Nigeria (now Stanbic IBTC) and Asset & Resource Management Investment Fund Managers (ARM). At ARM he oversaw a number of principal investments.
Femi holds an MBA from the University of Benin, Nigeria and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
