APIP II is an open-ended generalist portfolio that predominantly focuses on the agriculture, real estate, technology, energy and FMCG sub-sectors. APIP II aims to provide Equity, Quasi-Equity, Debt, Working Capital Financing to small and medium scale businesses across several sectors in Nigeria that would otherwise struggle to secure financing from banks.

It is estimated that over 85% of bank lending in the country goes to institutions requiring over US$2.8million in debt financing, thereby leaving many SME’s starved of funding. APIP II is seeking to take advantage of the equity funding gap in the SME space in Nigeria in order to achieve superior fund returns and stimulate economic growth and development and has made investments in two portfolio companies.
